BASF licensing ExxonMobil's FLEXSORB technology

BASF, owner of the OASE® brand, is extending its gas treatment portfolio by licensing ExxonMobil's highly effective FLEXSORBTM technology. The agreement provides BASF with the right to sub-license the technology and supply the related solvent to third parties. This solvent is known in the industry for its selective removal of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) in presence of carbon dioxide (CO2). The selectivity advantage allows achieving high H2S removal at low solvent circulation rates resulting in lower energy consumption compared to conventional processes.
