OASE® white for Syngas, Ammonia and HYCO

OASE® white

Drawing on over 50 years of experience, the OASE® white technology has proven its versatility and reliability in the removal of acid gases such as carbon dioxide (CO2) and hydrogen sulfide (H2S), from synthesis gas (syngas). OASE® white's broad application scope, the continuous optimization based on hundreds of running references including BASF's own facilities, and the flexibility of this process makes it the leading choice for applications such as ammonia, syngas, and hydrogen/carbon monoxide (HYCO).

Chemical technicians Luigi Marano and Enrico Gundermann carry out an inspection in the hydrogen plant. This plant is an important supplier of industrial gases in BASF’s Verbund.

Ammonia

Our extensive technical experience and references in greenfield plants and revamps allows BASF to offer an OASE® solution that meets hydrogen purity requirements for a broad range of feed acid gas compositions.

Syngas/HYCO

We offer a broad range of solutions according to specific customer requirements. Our designs are customized for operating expenditures (OPEX) or capital expenditures (CAPEX) based on customer priorities.

Blue Hydrogen/Ammonia

Blue hydrogen, produced through low-carbon methods such as electrolysis or carbon capture and storage (CCS), signifies the next advancement in reducing global CO2 emissions.BASF's OASE® white is a proven amine scrubbing technology for deep CO2 removal from syngas, offering exceptional energy efficiency and robust operation The use of OASE® white in blue hydrogen and blue ammonia production can achieve an impressive targeted process gas CO2 capture rate (CCR) of up to 99.99 mol% while meeting the CO2 purity requirements for CCS.

This technology also plays a crucial role in maritime decarbonization, providing the necessary solutions to capture emissions from shipping operations and contributing to a more sustainable future for the maritime industry. Read more about how to reduce CO2 in maritime applications here.
