BASF exists now for over 150 years. It was founded in 1865 by Friedrich Engelhorn and, since then, has shaped the chemical industry through constant innovation.

Our DNA is composed of 4 points: We use our creativity to develop products and solutions for customers. In addition, we embrace bold ideas and give them space to grow.

Openness - We value diversity, in people, opinions and experience. We live by the principle of honesty and respect. Through mutual trust we do not hesitate to give feedbacks and learn- from setbacks.

In our company, the health and safety of people are the top priorities. Therefore, we always take a responsible approach as a company. We include sustainability in every decision and commit ourselves to strict standards of corporate governance and environmental protection.

Through our entrepreneurial thinking, we focus on our customers, as individuals and as a company. We seize opportunities, think ahead, take ownership, and embrace personal accountability.

With  innovative  products,   global   field support  and   industry  leading  technical expertise, BASF Mining Solutions provides sustainable solutions   which increase productivity, recovery and flexibility throughout the hydrometallurgical process of mining operations in leaching,  solvent extraction, flotation, solid/liquid separation, materials handling and tailings management.

BASF Mining Solutions is part of BASF’s Performance Chemicals division. The division’s  portfolio also  includes  Fuel and Lubricant Solutions, Plastic Additives, as well as Oilfield Chemicals and Kaolin Minerals. Customers from  a variety  of  industries  including Chemicals, Plastics, Consumer Goods, Energy & Resources and Automotive & Transportation benefit from our innovative solutions.

We  are  currently working with CRM Group as part of the COACH project which is a highly strategically important project for BASF Mining Solutions.

As a company this fits exactly with our commitment towards a more circular and  sustainable economy in the Mining and Steel production sector, therefore joining  the CRM member network seemed a natural progression.

Our  mission as BASF Mining  Solutions is to introduce new chemical binders conceptually designed using a Circular Economy scheme to  increase  the recycle-ability of ironmaking solid waste streams.

We want to assist the steel industry to reduce GHG emissions and work with innovation to create a more sustainable industry footprint.

CRM Group has  a high level  of expertise in the agglomeration of mineral fines, recycled wastes and ore  as well as the critical down- stream testing to ensure any  technical output is capable of withstanding the requirements  of  the industry. This expertise is critical to ensure any  new chemistries are  adequate for  the steel industry. Outside of that, we want to understand the wider reach of the CRM Group whereby other colleagues from BASF Mining Solutions may be interested to collaborate

Our current challenges are mainly resource- based as well as access to the key players in the market. We  believe that a partnership with CRM Group will allow BASF Mining Solutions to develop into this exciting field as  well  as  add  value  by collaboration with new key colleagues.
